You may have noticed that we’ve been a bit quiet lately. It’s not for lack of artist projects; it’s just that we’ve been exploring new planets!
Yes, Renaissance Boy Recordings has entered the indie film fray and is currently in pre-production for the Erika Randall/Jen Bechtel penned film, Leading Ladies.
Right now, we’re putting together some teaser materials and starting the search for talent. Keep an eye out for more information coming soon.

Here at Renaissance Boy Recordings we have been working on ways to keep you better informed about our artists and their music.
It started in April when we launched the new Wordpress site, and is now expanding into the world of artist Newsletters.
Today we are launching the new PHPList based newsletter system. We have set up several lists for each of our artists so that you can be kept informed of news and events. You can sign up to be notified of news and events for a particular artist, or you can sign up for several/all of our artists. Your information will be kept in a database on the Renaissance Boy server, and of course, we will NEVER share your information with any one else. The information stored includes your name, e-mail, city, state and zip (so that we can contact you when an artist is in your area).
Each user will have the ability to alter his/her information whenever he/she wants by accessing the preferences update page. Your preference page is sent to you when you sign up for the list. If your address was imported from a previous list or you lose the e-mail containing your preferences link, you can request your access link by clicking here and entering your e-mail address. A link to your preferences page will be sent to you.
We are confident that this new information system will be a great way to keep our artists fans and friends informed of what is going on. Please feel free to drop us a line and let us know if you have any thought or suggestions!
As always, thanks for your support.

We just added a new Dan Beahm and The Invisible Three show to the roster. They’ll be playing one of our local favorites, The Meadowlark in Denver on Wednesday, July 2. The show begins at 8pm and kicks off a week of shows featuring the amazing TALIA, all the way from Illinois, on cello!
The Meadowlark is located at 27th and Larimer in Denver. You’ll see a red light marking the bar at that intersection; go down the stairs and enter a world of magical musical goodness.

Ausfahrt (German): to drive out; to go for a ride — ausfahren (fuhr aus, ausgefahren)
Today we announced dates for the Dan Beahm and The Invisible Three Great Acoustic MidWest Adventure of 2008. Dan Beahm and The Invisible Three will be hitting venues from Colorado to Ohio during the weeks surrounding Memorial Day Weekend (approximately May 19-June 6).
Look to be entertained by reunions with old band mates and musical friends from across the country as Dan and his invisible posse play songs from previous albums, and also a slew of new material to be featured on not one, not two, but three (count ‘em, THREE) upcoming new projects.
Shows and venues will continue to be added, so keep an eye on updates for the tour!

I think we’re going to settle on the theme “Unbound” by Headset Options and Mandarin Musings. We’ve got new colors and header pics set up, altered some opacities and functionalities, but are still hammering out some kinks, so hopefully everything will be up and running smoothly soon!

So we’re letting ourselves get swept up into the winds of change. Who can deny that the internet has gone the way of the blog? And who are we to fight it? All our artists seem to be doing it (read: all the cool kids are doing it), why can’t we? Yeah, we’re late to the game, but we’ve finally realized that it’s a good way to get the information to the people… so here we go.
Don’t worry, we’ve made sure to keep everything structured so you can still find all your favorite Renaissance Boy artists, their music and their shows. You might even find that it is now easier to find the information you’re looking for.
For instance, check out the cool new “Upcoming Shows” widget. It feeds from the Renaissance Boy Google Calendar, and makes it easy to see where and when the next Renaissance Boy Recordings show is.
Take some time and poke around. We think you’ll like what you find. Things may change a bit every now and then (for example, we’re already realizing that we need to beef up the headers and footers, and probably go with a second side-bar, as we’re starting to run out of room).
Feel free to drop us a line and let us know what you like, or what you think we could do to make improvements. After all, it’s you we’re doing this for, and it’s you who keep us alive.
Viva la independent music!
